About

Fictional was supposed to be just a fictional publishing label, created only to release The Field Guide to Design Futures by Giovanni Caruso and Silvio Cioni.

But then, in one of those classic Italian twists, the authors found out that setting up a real publishing actually costs less than the formalities required for self-publishing or one-off releases.

So Fictional ended up being not so fictional after all (or perhaps fictional but fully functional ;-), and now it’s set on releasing books about design research, culture, practice, and criticism.
And maybe a few other things along the way.

Fictional is a trading name of fictive, an experimental studio researching design, systems, and futures from Milan to everywhere.
